About London Road Rental

London Road Rental is locally owned by Jerry and Cathy Kortesmaki.   London Road Rental Center is Duluth’s only full service rental store serving both the tool and party segment of the industry, etc.

London Road Rental was started February 1, 2002.   Jerry had started in the rental industry in 1981 in Phoenix AZ working as a mechanic for ARC Rentals.   Then moved back to his home town of Duluth, MN to raise his children and went to work for Taylor Rental in 1985 and worked there until 1989.   He worked at a couple of other jobs but missed the excitement of the rental world and went to work for one of the national chains and worked his way into management.   Then the opportunity to open London Road Rental came along.   His wife Cathy liked the idea of getting out of the corporate world.

We were fortunate to get the location that was Taylor Rental since 1973.   Ron Olson had built a very successful rental business there.

Since then we have assembled a cast of characters (I mean employees) that have a lot of experience in the rental industry.   Nick Luoma came from a family owned rental store.   Jim Hanson has been working in the rental industry since 1976.   Jerry and Jim have worked together on and off since 1985.   We also have a full time mechanic and a tent and warehouse person along with many part time employees to keep the business going.  

The business was supposed to start out just as a tool rental, but before the doors opened the request for tables and chairs started to come in along with all the tool requests.   Tool and equipment have been the mainstay of the business, but Duluth seemed to have a void in the party business for newer and different items.   So now we are starting our next venture London Road Rental Party Express.   Please watch as this grows into its own business.
